Masters Football

At the weekend I took my dad to the Midlands masters football at the NIA, Tom and Max came too. A really good day out topped off by wolves winning and going for a curry at Jimmy spices.

I didn't do allot else this weekend and tonight I have the fun of putting together an 8ft x 9ft IKEA bookcase.

Music and Film

I've had a cold now for what seems like for ever, hopefully I'm coming out the other end now and getting better.

I did my second half of the MBTI qualifying course on Monday and Tuesday and got 7 out of 8 on both dichotomies in my feed back (RESULT!). I am waiting on the results of my written exam to find out if I can call myself a qualified psychometrist and tell people that they are crazy.

The past 2 days I have been trying to find a song to accompany the brand launch of OPP's new branding and I have narrowed it down to 4 choices. One by Queen, one by the Automatic, one by the Libertines and one by The Kaiser Chiefs. The Queen one fits best with the brand image but it is a bit cheesy, the Kaisers one has a very tenuous link with the branding but everyone seems to like the song, the Libertines one has a better message but is a bit messy in the recording and I think the Automatic one is a bit heavy and the message is a bit negative. Cool job but ruddy hard to do.

Today I am camera man for this 16PF expert that has come across from the states to give a presentation to key members of the business. We are doing the presentation next month too but the guy is going to have gone home by then, hence the reason for the video.

Taking my dad for his father's day present tomorrow, quite looking forward to it, I would tell you what it is but it's a surprise and you never know who may read this.

2 Quizes in 2 Days

Last night I was the question master for the fist ever OPP pub quiz, held at the Exeter hall at the top of Cowley Road. The night was a real success, there were plenty of people there and everyone seemed to have a great time. More importantly I didn't have to buy a drink all night - I think I'll be question master next time too.

Quite funny really because I went to Al's leaving do at the Admiral Benbow in Milton on Wednesday night, it was supposed to be an aunt sally night but it rained so it turned out to be another pub quiz, which (thankfully) my team won. It was good to see the guys from RM again. My old team, which was 7 before Christmas is now down to only 3 people.

I had the day off today. Went to the official opening of Owens Way, I saw the Mayor. This afternoon I took Ellie for lunch at the fishes and then we went to a garden centre and to Salisbury's where I finally gave in an bough a new microwave and a free view box for the bedroom (good job it was payday yesterday). When we got home we did a blitz on the house work and the house is sparkling.

I also just watched another uninspiring display by England who led Brazil until the 92nd minute and then let in a late equalizer. RUBBISH!

It's raning and the washing is out

I am sitting at work. I want to go for a walk but the sky is an odd grey colour and it is belting it down with rain. Ellie is away on a school activity day and I have left my Aikido Gi out on the washing line.

Ellie has told me that she is going to bed when she gets home, so I may go up to Silverstone to see the Aikido group up there and go for a drink.

Tomorrow we are going up to Wolves to see my parents, it’s my granddad’s 88th or something birthday Sunday. Let me work this out. He was born in 1919, so that would make him 88. Wow how good a guess was that.

It’s going to be a busy weekend. I’ve got to psychoanalyse George (Ellie’s brother) and Tom, I’ve said I will go fishing with my dad, and I’m due to play cricket on Monday weather permitting.

Still cant shift this cough, it’s not stopping me from doing anything but it’s just rather annoying.

Oh, I also say Felix’s band and Rob’s band last night (5 bands in one evening, Exeter Hall – Jericho Tavern – Exeter Hall). Brilliant!

Saturday night Ellie and I went to see Mark in Farringdon and to watch Carrie Rossiter at the Crown out there. Was a good night.

I ended up drinking too much and looked through Mark’s Croatia photos. I was a bit shook up when the alarm went off at 9 o’clock on Sunday morning. We had to go to church. Ellie wouldn’t let me speak to the vicar as she said that I smelt of alcohol. This wasn’t very nice, although I was quite hung over.

I got home and went to bed. Woke up at 1:30 and tried to go to Aikido, got as far as Iffley Road - Realised that I was too knackered to go any further. Turned around and went back to bed.

I woke again at about 4:30. Lay in bed listening to the cricket on the Radio; then went down stairs to play Brian Lara Cricket on the play station.

Uncle Colin isn’t well, he has gone deaf and they say it is due to inflammation of his mastic, from infection. We went out to post him a get well soon card and see Karis yesterday evening. Then had a well deserved bath and unfortunately had to do some ironing. Wednesfield High School was on the telly (a programme about the foul mouthed little thugs that go there).

Mr. Clumsy

Last night I managed firstly to get mat burn of the newly layed dojo floor then I dislocated by thumb on Stuart.

The Mat burn was on my second toe of my right foot, Andy put a very nice Ikyo tenkan on me and I went flying around his hip, scraping my toes on the canvas as I went.

Then right at the end I went to grab Stuart's Gi from behind and stubbed my thumb direct into Stuart's bicep. He's a big lad and is pretty well built, something went pop but 15 minutes with an ice pack on it and then another ice block on it when I got home and it returned to normal size.

I can drive and I can type, what more could you want?

Wolves Albion tonight.

I wish I was on a beach

It's raining outside again. Who would believed that only a few weeks ago I was regularly walking in the park at lunch time. Watching the match yesterday was akin to watching bog football. Back at work this morning and I forgot to clear the washing line before I went out this morning. I have officially booked my holiday for Croatia. I also did one of these, "See which countries I've been to tick box map things", Assuming we go to Dubrovnik whilst in Croatia, see below:

I hope that next year I can make it to Mexico, Cuba and Slovakia or somewhere eastern Europe. It feels a bit of a fraud as it has coloured in the whole of the USA when I have only been to Florida and Maine.
